Photographer
Carlos Renato Fernandes, born in Curitiba in 1938, is a writer and nature photographer with national and international recognition. A member of the Historical and Geographical Institute of Paraná, he held a significant exhibition of Paraná landscapes at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris in 1998. He was honored with the title “Bicho do Paraná” in 1996 and received the State Order of the Pinheiro in 2013.
Among his most notable works are bilingual photographic art books, including O Paraná (with three editions and 22,000 copies), Atlantic Forest – Biosphere Reserve, Curitiba Brazil (2007), Water – Soul of Landscapes (winner of the Grand Prix for Graphic Excellence in 2010), Iguaçu National Park – Natural Heritage of Humanity, and Curitiba Biocity (2017).
